Omaha, NE – Today, Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine announced his campaign for re-election to County Attorney. Kleine has served as County Attorney since 2006.

“Every day I fight to protect Douglas County, uphold the law and Constitution, and take violent criminals off of our streets,” said Kleine. “Together, we have put dangerous criminals behind bars and made Douglas County safe. My mission has never changed – do what is right, serve justice, and make Douglas County a better and safer place for Nebraskans.”

Kleine has served Douglas County for nearly 19 years as County Attorney. He previously served as the Chief of the Criminal Bureau for the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office. Prior to that, Don was in private practice focusing on civil litigation and criminal defense, and he served as Chief Deputy Douglas County Attorney from 1991 to 2003.

A lifelong resident of Omaha, Don is a graduate of Creighton University School of Law and currently serves as a law adjunct instructor at Creighton University. Don is the National District Attorney’s Association Representative for the Nebraska County Attorney Association’s Board of Directors, is on the Board of Project Harmony and is an Advisory Board Member for Live On Nebraska.
