Douglas County Attorney’s Office wins triple murder case

The dedicated and hardworking attorneys and staff of the Douglas County Attorney’s Office won a hard fought trial to obtain the convictions.

An Omaha man on Thursday was found guilty of three counts of first-­degree murder in the execution-­style killings of a meth dealer and his sons.

Timothy “Mont” Britt, 26, was convicted in the July 9, 2012, deaths of dealer Miguel Avalos, 44, and his sons Miguel Avalos Jr., 18, and Jose Avalos, 16, in their home near Ninth and Bancroft Streets.

A Douglas County jury deliberated for about 7½ hours before reaching its verdict.
